odiogo - podcasting my blog - the only thing is that the audios are not in the right places... eg the first one under the first date is really for the flickr one which is the next one down ... got some bugs to fix I think!!!!

anyway it helps those people who have limited sight to be able to participate in things like blog postings -- good idea!!!!! - one more step to sharing with one and all :)
sorry - everyone - i had to delete my "yoda quote of the day" at the bottom of my blog as it wouldn't load properly ... bummer!

It used to load quite fine but now all I get is technical glitches ... ahhhhhh modern technology hits the wall yet once again!

flickr

Hi everyone - I've finally managed to get my flickr photos to talk to my blog - I've only used avatars as my photos at this point - so please enjoy the various looks of me as a library tech....ps I've saved you all from the polka dot bikini look

The good thing about flickr is that you not only have the option of sharing your photos with others - which is one way of staying in touch but you can also...
organise your photos (with tags), edit your photos (crop and fix problems like red eyes), add a map to show where the photos were taken (making it a more memorable experience) and make things (cards, photo books, frame a print etc).

There is also a way to upload into your emails ...... but wait there's more!!!

Take the tour of flickr to find out what else it has to offer!

I've been playing again!!!

I have been having a play again - with adding gadgets this time.

I've added the following:
library-themed slideshow
google mini search gadget
search gta public library (choose from 5 different libraries overseas)
games - memory, brain tuner, puzzles and riddles

oh - and a lava lamp (cause I've always wanted one) - you can change the colours too!

With some of the games - I need to resize the window cause they don't fit in one screen.... oops

Yahoo - I dit it or should that be You-tube I did it?

I did it - I did it!!!

I finally got a You Tube video to work on my blog!!!

yee - haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Dancing Girl

I found this test of a dancing girl. Depending on which way you view her rotating on the screen as to which side of your brain is the more dominant.

If you think she is turning clockwise - then your are right-brain dominant and vice versa.

ENLIGHTENMENT!!!

Okay - I've finally realised that I've done a few things back to front but I am now on the path to enlightenment!

Today I explored the Social bookmarking Website of Delicious. I found it quite easy to activate and then use.

You can make bookmarks of just about anything - websites, individual entries (such as individual bibliographies within the State Library website) and much more that I haven't had time to try - yet.

A WORD OF WARNING - when you use a "tag" for new bookmarks - like a subject heading - remember that spaces between the words makes the program think that each word is a different tag: "cook books" will enter your bookmarks under cook and books making 2 separate entries under both words.

If you just want a "tag" of cookbooks - use either one word like cookbooks or use hyphens like cook-books.

Clear as mud? Give it a go and you'll see what I mean!

Teaching styles based on left brain vs right brain dominance

This site is dedicated to teachers and how they can understand their own teaching strengths based on their left brain or right brain dominance.

But ... there's a twist ... it also suggests that people can be 'middle brain ' - that they can easily interchange their thinking processes from being left brain to right brain without either side being truly dominant.

http://www2.scholastic.com/browse/article.jsp?id=3629#twoSides

It also suggests ways that teachers can structure their curriculum to cater for the differing learning styles of the left brain and right brain students.

Left brain vs right brain attributes and likely occupations

Another website that explores the characteristics stylized by left brain and right brain dominance.

This site goes one step further and lists occupations usually employed by the opposing brain dominant persons.

Left Brain or Right Brain Learning Styles

This website suggests ways to improve a person's study methods based on whether they were left brain or right brain oriented.

There was a quiz (for teens - which I am most certainly not!) composed of 20 questions which then categorized the quizee as left brain or right brain. It also gave suggestions for understanding and improving their learning style.

Additional support material includes: suggested reading prompts, further learning styles and study tips and a number of related articles.

p.s. I completed the quiz and was informed that I could be a contestant on the tv quiz show Jeopardy - now if I only had the money to travel to America to be on the show!

basic left brain vs right brain attributes

Upon searching the internet, I found this quick and simple explanation of left brain vs right brain attributes.

There is an image of a dancing ballerina. The pre-dominance of the viewer's left brain vs right brain depends on how the viewer interprets the dancer's rotation. Give it a go and see if you agree with the attributes listed.
